Antique wood effect Millboard decking leads out from the house onto a newly terraced garden. The chunky York stone slabs used as steps were reclaimed from a Victorian insane asylum and the main focal point is the larch that ghoulishly drapes over the arched entrance to a gated sanctum.
Black phormiums perch like spiders and offset the spiky heads of Eryngium Silver Ghost, and a lot of fun was had playing with various bizarre plant textures. The 'poison border' features with colour combinations, and scale. Outdoor mirrors create the effect of a continuing path into the imposing hill beyond.
A reclaimed water feature and a simple but atmospheric lighting scheme complete the experience.
I'm very much enjoying the garden, at every opportunity, along with all the family. We've even had a large party which used the garden to the full and everyone who's seen it has loved it.
