This is a narrow and steep rear garden whose owners wanted to transform it into a light, open and contemporary outdoor space.
the design increased the depth of the patio and created raised rendered beds at various levels, one of which integrates a small water feature. Reconfiguring the steps leading to the upper level of the garden freed up further patio space laterally. Since the patio is in constant view of the kitchen and dining room, the planting scheme is minutely calibrated to provide year round colour and texture in front of the pristinely rendered walls. Lighting projects moving silhouettes of plants onto the panoramic backdrop.
The design looks so good that we will have bifold doors from the dining room into the garden. Thank you again Marlene for an inspiring design.
